After a month of Pokémon Ultra Moon being out, I finally got my hands on a copy of my own a few nights ago. As a huge Pokémon fan and since Pokémon Emerald, I’ve played every Pokémon game in existence, one of my favorites being Pokémon Moon.
While I love the fact that Moon is based on Hawaii, one of my favorite places to visit in the world, it makes it feel like I’m back in Hawaii but with a special Pokémon twist. In Moon, you (the player) discover new possibilities of different variations of Pokémon and Pokémon types in a different region. Also with moon, there’s the option to customize your avatar to either your likeness or whoever you want to be, this also a big win for different skin tones and pigmentation, as Moon gives a better range than Pokémon X. It’s nice to have the option to choose how you would like to look and dress than what you’re stuck with. In Ultra Moon, all these components remain the same except with extra content and possibly more legendries.
Upon opening the game, there are huge differences than the original Pokémon Moon. In the original Moon, there are different characters chasing Lillie in the opening scene. In addition, instead of a lengthy tutorial on how to play Pokémon, the player instead will receive their starter Pokémon within minutes of starting the game. So, a little change there but I have not gotten far in the game yet to make notes of any changes, give a few days since I have finals coming up.
My expectations for Ultra Moon are that it will exceed what I enjoyed in Pokémon Moon by having the extra content and newer features, I heard there were some glitches and knacks that were in the game but I have yet to encounter them so far.
