Dierks Bentley puts on his 7th show at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Country music artist, Dierks Bentley, put on his 7th Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo concert on Friday night. His songs illuminated the NRG Stadium when he sung from his newer and older albums, Black, Riser and Home. He was very grateful to be back for another year and his performance was evidence of it.

From the opening song he combined a violin, guitar, banjo and more to accompany the song, “Up on the Ridge”. The ease and confidence he showed when performing this song with his band was enjoyable to look at and brought the level of energy that remained for the rest of the show.

Throughout the night he spoke of his journey and humble beginnings. He said, “it’s every country singers dream to perform on the Rodeo Houston stage,” and “this is a once in a lifetime deal for me.” He also thanked his loyal fans and supporters for sticking with him. “Thank you for believing in us, we love you guys,” he said. His humble beginnings were even shown through the fact that he played on the guitar he used for his first concert on the Houston Rodeo on Livestock Stage. One could tell of the history it had through it’s scratches and wear and tear but also its strong place in Bentley’s heart.

He sung a variety of songs including “Black”, “Different for Girls”, “Somewhere on a Beach”, “Riser”, more and he finished up his concert with a sing-a-long of “Drunk on a Plane”.
