The Houston Symphony debuts the spectacular show, R&B Mixtape

The Houston Symphony along with vocalist, N’Kenge and Ryan Shaw put on a spectacular evening to remember by the debut of the show R&B Mixtape.  The award winning orchestra under the direction of composer, Steven Reineke, made sure guest danced and sang the night away.

Many groovy hits from renowned artist such as Prince, Stevie Wonder, Beyoncé, Aretha Franklin, Adele, Whitney Houston and more were introduced to the Symphony stage. This performance presented a new sound to the acoustics of Jones Hall and offered a light and fresh atmosphere for everyone.

Some of the most memorable songs performed were “Hello” sung by Broadway actress, N’Kenge, and “A Change is Gonna Come” by Ryan Shaw. Both artist oozed an easy-going vibe and brought their own swagger and personality to the stage.

Audience etiquette was transformed to snapping, singing, clapping and even dancing. The aura was contagious and feelings of unity and love was spread throughout the hall. The selection of songs was varied and heavily represented the greats of rhythm & blues music. The Houston Symphony put on an unforgettable performance and certainly lived up to their acclaimed awards.
