One week: Immigration Agents arrest 600 people across U.S.

The numbers are quickly rising up. Federal immigration officials arrested more than 600 people across at least 11 states last week, detaining 40 people in the New York City area, law enforcement officials said on Sunday.

The motive is still made unclear with all these arrests made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Was it part of continuing operations to round up undocumented immigrants with criminal convictions or a ramping-up of deportations by the Trump administration?

Gillian Christensen, acting press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, says it was simply, “routine” But Trump’s tweets on Sunday suggests other wise.
