The unspeakable and unthinkable acts a human can commit are now questioned with The Bye Bye Man movie. If you dare, take a seat this Friday the 13th to your local theater and unravel the story of the mythical (or so we think) Bye Bye man.
The creepy title explains it all, The Bye Bye Man is a horror film from the producer of Oculus and The Strangers. Three college friends find themselves sucked into horrific origins traced back to bloody events. The film begins by showing the murderous acts of The bye bye man’s victims.
The college students move into an old off-campus house. Not having a clue to what evils the shadows could hold, they slowly begin to host the evil thoughts.
The students discover the origin and curse of The bye bye man with the saying, “Don’t think it, don’t say it.” By not saying, thinking nor writing down the name, The bye bye man cannot possess your mind. But one question still remains, is their discovering’s enough to stop The bye bye man?
In some particular scenes some events did not connect or make sense towards The bye bye man’s story. Like the sinister dog on steroids, was it The bye bye man’s pet or companion? Never mentioned. Besides the puzzling screenplay and poor visual effects, The Bye Bye Man was for sure no joke and brought goosebumps to my skin.
I’m glad to say The Bye Bye Man did accomplish to keep me on my toes towards the end of the movie. I found myself whispering, “Don’t say it,” and “no!” to specific parts which made me question what was and wasn’t real.
The Bye Bye Man film can be a nice chilling treat to many younger audiences but may not please audiences who don’t scare easily. The vibes of the bye bye man portrayed a bit from the classic horror movie, Candyman, just sadly not as scary.
Go out and see for yourself what The Bye Bye Man really has to offer to your nightmares and remember, don’t think it don’t say it, don’t say it don’t think it!
