On September 15, 2016, Bad Boy Records Label graced the Toyota Center stage with one of the most amazing hip hop performances of all time!
Bad Boy Records (also known as Bad Boy Entertainment) was founded by Sean Combs, formerly know as P. Diddy or Puff Daddy. The first song released on the record label was “Flavor in Ya Ear” by Craig Mack, and since then has produced numerous classic hits that have left a lasting impression for many generations.
The show opened with Combs exploding onto the stage with his featured verse on the artists Waka Flocka Flame’s single “O Let’s Do It”. From that moment on, the show continued to blaze with performances from acts on the Bad Boy Label such as Lil Kim, Faith Evans , Total. 112 and Mase . Newcomers to the label such as French Montana, and Combs son Justin Combs (who performed one of his new hit singles) were amazing.
To make the show more personal to the city, they featured the local Houston rap artist, Bun B who performed a tribute piece in honor of Pimp C and DJ Screw ( all hip hop legends from Houston).
The show ended with a last performance honoring hip hop legend Biggie Smalls, known for songs such as – “Missing You” and “Mo Money Mo Problems” creating a solemn tone throughout the entire Toyota Center. The concert ended on a bittersweet note, most wishing that it could have continued on , but overall the audience was ecstatic that they were able to witness such an epic event in Houston.
