Season 11 of Americas Got Talent came to end when a 12 year old ukulele player nailed her encore performance during the finale. Grace Vanderwaal has been Americas fan favorite since she first blew the judges away with her ukulele skills and unique voice. Vanderwaal was judge, Howie Mandel’s, Gold Buzzer receiver and all of the judges have been a fan since day one.
Known for her original song, “I Don’t Know My Name”, Vanderwaal has always wowed the crowd with other originals such as, “Clay” and “House of Gold”. Vanderwaal sobbed as her named was called and she hugged The Clairvoyants and host Nick Cannon. Grace not only was Americas Got Talent season 11 winner, but she also took with her the $1 million prize and an opportunity to perform her own show in Las Vegas.
Watching the show in awe, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. A 12 year old had won Americas Got Talent. I thought somehow it was peculiar when she won but it didn’t come much to a surprise because that’s who America wanted to win and also myself. It took a lot of courage to go in front of hundreds of individuals and not to mention millions behind the television and sing her original music.
Winning her $1 million prize Grace didn’t think of only herself but she thought of others as well by giving back to charities; possibly a music charity. At the age of 12 of course, she wants to buy a tree house also. I’m very pleased that Grace won Americas Got Talent because she gets an even bigger opportunity to grow and spread her music all over the world.
